Saudi Arabia removes PoK, Gilgit-Baltistan from Pakistan's map, a big Diwali gift for India

According to media reports, the world map displayed on the banknote initially showed Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Pakistani Occupied Kashmir as parts of Pakistan but was later removed.

Now media reports around the world are saying that Saudi Arabia's move is nothing short of an attempt to humiliate Pakistan, which appears to be "conducive to its new assault".

When this came to the fore, a POK activist Amjad Ayub Mirza tweeted on Wednesday, "Saudi Arabia has removed Pakistani occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Gilli-Baltistan from the map of Pakistan!!!!

Mirza also tweeted a picture that captioned, "Saudi Arabia's Diwali gift to India - Gilgit-Baltistan and Pakistani Occupied Kashmir were removed from Pakistan's map."

You may know that the Government of India has, from time to time, been telling the Government of Pakistan in strong terms and has also claimed that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, including the alleged Gilgit and Baltistan, are integral parts of India.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had said, "The Indian government has strongly opposed the government of Pakistan and said that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, including the alleged Gilgit-Baltistan, are integral parts of India."

Pakistan's Imran Khan government first released a new political map of Pakistan, claiming that it is in Mawar in Junagadh, Sir Creek in Gujarat, and a part of Gujarat, Jammu, and Kashmir and Ladakh.

This came after the first anniversary of the Narendra Modi government's decision to repeal Article 370, which gave special rights to the then state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistan has been demanding from Saudi Arabia to brew against India on the Kashmir issue from time to time, in such a situation, this step of Saudi Arabia will give a strong setback to Pakistan's intentions.
