Vijayadashami is one of the most meaningful Hindu festivals that denotes the end of the nine-day long Navratri celebrations. Vijayadashami signifies the triumph of Goddess Durga over the buffalo Demon Mahishasura. Vijayadashami Importance

Vijayadashami denotes the end of Durga Puja, remembering goddess Durga's victory over the buffalo demon Mahishasura to restore and protect dharma. It also marks a reverence for one of the aspects of goddess Devi, such as Durga or Saraswati. On the occasion of Vijayadashami, devotees carry clay idols of Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Ganesha, and Kartikeya to a nearby waterbody, accompanied by music and mantras, and immerse the idols in the water for dissolution and farewell. In Nepal, Dasara is celebrated as Dashain.

Dussehra Importance

Dasara & Dussehra and is celebrated as the victory of Lord Rama over Demon Ravana in Sri Lanka. Dussehra is one of India’s widely celebrated festivals observed at the end of Navratri. Going by the Hindu calendar this day falls in the month of Ashwin, which as per the English calendar is the months of September and October.
